About The Governor

The Governor Hotel ® is located in the heart of downtown Portland with an easy walk to Portland's sights, shopping, arts, and night life. The Governor is ideally located for public transportation, walking distance from shops, clubs and restaurants and a short distance from most downtown conference and event venues.

Originally called the Seward Hotel, the Governor opened in 1909 as one of America’s last “handmade” buildings, with an Arts and Crafts–inspired exterior detailing and interior furnishings. The hotel was restored to its original grandeur in the early 1990s, reopening as the Governor Hotel ® in 1992.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a member of Historic Hotels of America, today, The Governor Hotel ® offers some of the regions most unique and sought-after meeting and event spaces, beautifully remodeled rooms and suites, 24-hour room service, complimentary wireless Internet in-room and throughout the hotel and more.

Location: In the heart of downtown Portland, convenient for all downtown attractions, shopping, nightlife and dining. 1 block from 'The Galleria' stop on MAX light rail system with direct access to Portland International Airport. Adjacent to stops for Portland Streetcar Service to The Pearl District, South Waterfront, PSU and NW 23rd Avenue shopping and dining.	Dining: On-site • Jakes Grill open Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 11:00 PM Saturday- Sunday 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM. • Starbucks Coffee Shop in lobby open 6:30 am - 7:30 pm • 24 hour room service w/limited menu after 11:00 pm.
Meeting Facilities: 22,000 square of meeting rooms space- including the spectacular Heritage Ballroom - divided between 13 meeting and banquet rooms catered by Jake's Catering at the Governor Hotel ®. Can accommodate up to 700 people for reception.
General Policies: 24 hour cancellation policy. Pets - No pets allowed. 4:00 PM check-in. Noon check-out. Family - Children 17 and under stay free when occupying same room as adults using existing bedding. Must be 21 or over to make a reservation.
